Getting Started
Whether you are learning to read, trying to pass your GED®, get ready for college, get a better job, or learn English, Idaho’s Division of Career & Technical Education can help.
To enroll in the Adult Education (AE) program, the first step is to contact your local program. In some cases, the program may have an outreach site close to you, even if the campus you see listed here isn’t in your city. Select the one that’s nearest to you. Their friendly, professional staff will help you figure out what skills you need to work on to meet your goals and get you started on an education plan that makes sense for you.

To be eligible for the program, you must be over the age of 16, not currently enrolled in any public high school, and have skills below the 12th grade (high school graduate) level in any of the following areas: reading, writing, or math. Programs also serve students who cannot read, write, or speak the English language. You can still qualify for the AE program as a high school and college graduate if your skill level has fallen below the 12th-grade level and needs some refreshing.
