Retirement of Old Career Pathway System
The existing Career Pathway Plan system officially retired on Nov 14th. This old system served students well but no longer meets the needs of today’s education landscape.
Transition to a PDF-Based 7th-Grade Activities Toolkit
During the remainder of the 2024-25 academic year, we encourage educators to transition students to the PDF version of the 7th-grade activities. These resources are designed to bridge the gap between the retired system and future enhancements.
What’s Included?
- PDF Activities: Easy-to-use tools to guide students in career exploration and goal setting.
- Lesson Plans: Detailed guides to help educators deliver impactful career education sessions.
- Editable PowerPoint Slides: Customizable presentations to support classroom instruction.

Long-Term Vision: 7th-Grade Portfolios
Looking ahead, we’re building a robust platform that will introduce 7th-grade portfolios. This initiative aims to:
- Begin career exploration earlier.
- Track achievements, interests, and goals over time.
- Collaborate with educators and families to plan for their futures.
The 7th-grade portfolio system is projected to launch in time for the 2025-26 school year as part of Idaho’s effort to empower students to take ownership of their future.
We’re excited about these changes and their potential to empower Idaho’s students. Stay tuned for updates and visit NextSteps.Idaho.gov/educator regularly for resources, tutorials, and support!
