On December 17, 2020, The Idaho State Board of Education unanimously approved a waiver of the Board’s rule requiring students to take a college entrance exam in order to graduate from a public high school in Idaho. The waiver applies to students graduating at the end of the 2020-21 school year, including the summer term.

Typically, students take college entrance exams during their junior year. This will be the second year that the test has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Local school boards can still choose to require the college entrance exam and there will still be opportunities for seniors to take the test during the national testing dates before the end of the spring term.
