In September, direct admissions letters notified more than 20,000 public high school seniors that they had been accepted to college. Using college entrance exam scores and GPA information reported from students’ junior years, the State Board of Education worked with Idaho’s higher education institutions to proactively admit Idaho’s graduating seniors to six or more of the state’s public institutions where they can continue their education.
Students simply submit an application for enrollment, following the normal application process, at the college of their choice to accept this opportunity (by February 15, 2017). As an added bonus, the colleges and universities have agreed to credit back any application fees paid to attending students’ first tuition bill next fall.
