About
Northwest Nazarene University, a private, Christian university located in Idaho’s Boise Valley, is committed to a holistic education, that develops students intellectually, socially, physically, and spiritually.
Founded in 1913, NNU offers courses at its 88-acre residential campus, as well as online and at extension campuses in Idaho Falls, and in 35 countries around the world. With more than 80 undergraduate programs, plus 18 master’s degrees in six different disciplines, four Education Specialists degrees and two doctoral degrees, NNU prepares students for servant leadership in diverse professions and disciplines. NNU is an NCAA Division II school and its Nighthawks boast 13 men’s and women’s athletic teams.
NNU is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), a regional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

COVID-19 Safety Measures & Protocol
What is being done to help our community stay healthy?
The following measures are being taken to create a safe and healthy campus:
- Saliva-based coronavirus screening
- Extra Sanitation and cleaning
- Daily health screenings
- Physical distancing
- Face coverings in all shared public spaces
- Good hand and cough hygiene
- Traffic patterns within campus buildings
- Protocols for review/approval of health and safety measures at all campus events
- Testing and stay at home protocols for exposed or ill community members
- Encouraging the reduction of travel
- Offering optional transition to remote learning following Thanksgiving (required for those who travel outside of the area for break)
