Idaho State Board of Education Scholarship Opportunities

The State Board of Education offers scholarships for those seeking aid immediately following high school graduation and for adults who have started college and are returning to complete degrees.

Money for College

For more information, review each scholarship on the State Board of Education’s website (using links) for the most up-to-date information.

The online application for each scholarship will require the following information:

  • Social Security Number
  • E-mail Address (Used for all scholarship notifications)
  • Expected Graduation Date

Idaho Opportunity Scholarship
Deadline: 3/1 (application opens in October)
Need-based award for students with at least a 2.7 unweighted cumulative GPA

Idaho Opportunity Scholarship for Adults
Deadline: Based on School / Rolling Dates
Need-based award
Requires at least a 2.5 unweighted cumulative GPA
Must attend an eligible Idaho college or university

Postsecondary Credit Scholarship
Deadline: Open/Rolling Dates
Attending or graduating from an accredited Idaho High School (or equivalent)
Has ten (10) or more postsecondary semester credits at the time of graduation from high school or graduated from high school with an associate degree
Has obtained a matching scholarship that is academic merit-based from a business or industry, or entities representing business or industry

GEAR UP Idaho Scholarship 2
Deadline: 3/1
Applicants less than 22 years old on first award
For those applicants who graduated from an Idaho high school or its equivalent in 2017 or 2018 and participated in Gear Up from Fall 2011-Spring 2018

Governor’s Cup Scholarship
Academic Deadline – 2/15 (application opens in November)
Career/Technical Deadline – 5/1
Requires community service
For graduating seniors of an Idaho high school
Requires a 2.8 GPA

Tschudy Family Scholarship
Deadline 2/15 (application opens in October)
For Emmett High School seniors or recent graduates
Requires a 2.6 GPA
Requires essay

Armed Forces and Public Safety Officer Scholarship
Open/No deadline
For dependents of fallen or permanently disabled members of the armed forces or public safety officers
